RTD (Rapid Transit District) Los Angeles was the public transit agency responsible for bus services in Los Angeles County until 1993. It was succeeded by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) following a merger with the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission. Metro now oversees bus and rail services in the region.
